Save the Tiger Campaign

“Save the Tiger Campaign” is another Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Raaika Tours & Treks Pvt. Ltd. The Bengal Tiger is popularly known as the Royal Bengal Tiger is the largest member of the cat family. Bengal Tiger inhabits in the wild dense forests and lush gardens of the Indian Subcontinent.

The campaign aims to raise awareness regarding the tiger’s habitat in Banke, Bardiya and Shuklaphanta National parks, where the local communities are well informed about the importance of tiger and utmost priority given to their wellbeing. This would lead to an increase in the number of tigers thus promoting the region as a well-known tourist destination. As a more number of tourist flow, these regions would be well developed in turn improving the living standard of the local community.

Utmost focus is given on saving the habitat of the wildlife. The campaign launched in 2015 intents to bring together the local community in spreading awareness regarding the existing scenario of the wildlife, poaching and illegal wildlife trade and also the importance of the tiger in maintaining the eco-system. The campaign encourages anti-poaching activities, educating people and bringing societal changes through awareness programs.

The camping also focuses on the younger generation reiterating the challenges faced and ways to overcome them. This campaign is in its initial phase. With active participation, genuine commitment and continuous support from the local community, schools, colleges and local entrepreneurs the campaign endeavours to create awareness through speech, pamphlets and different Media for effective result in protecting the wildlife and keeping the roar alive.

The ultimate goal of the campaign is to increase the tiger population and attract a higher number of tourists into the region and help contribute to improving the living standard of the locals through sustainable wildlife tourism.
